1.MFKK – MFKK INVENTION AND RESEARCH CENTER SERVICES COMPANY LTD.

MFKK Invention and Research Center Services Ltd. is a Hungarian private research organisation established in 2003. The mission of MFKK is to boost economic growth and competitiveness through facilitating the implementation of innovative technologies. MFKK provides services to a broad range of international clientele in the private and public sector and by promoting sustainable development serves the public interest. MFKK’s mission: to bring expertise to research and development of new technologies and devise methods beneficial for the environment and communities. Their key area of interest and expertise is Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Information and Telecommunication technologies, as well as Biomedical and Environmental technologies information and their application to industrial environments. The main expertise of the SensIT Department that will lead the CapHIV project at MFKK has sound expertise in sensor and environmental technologies.

2.CAPSENZE HANDELSBOLAG

CapSenze is a Swedish company based in Lund. It was formed around an invention of a novel way to measure capacitance using a biosensor format. Research on the sensor has been performed for 17 years but with competencies regarding electronic development entering the project, they managed to bring an academic lab setup to a commercially valid instrument. CapSenze develop and sell capacitive biosensor for use in e.g. research applications.

3. PHENOSYSTEMS SA

Phenosystems SA was founded 2009 in Blonay, Switzerland as a 100% subsidiary of Phenosystems SA Switzerland with the objective to develop and commercialise software for molecular diagnostics in Europe. Current business activities include the development of software using both subcontractors for specific tasks as well as internal staff in their Swiss subsidiary. Main products are data analysis and data management software packages for molecular genetics, mostly dedicated to diagnostics of human genes as well as viral (HIV). Services include customisation of these ‘of the shelf’ products to fit specific needs as well as complete developments of custom software.

4. LIONEX GMBH

Lionex is a biotech company dedicated to modern biomedicine for human health. Its main objectives are to develop novel diagnostics, vaccines and drugs for infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria. LIO has identified and produced a large number of mycobacterial antigens. The company produces TB diagnostic kits (Rapid and ELISA), recombinant proteins, with a worldwide distribution. LIO is well equipped for all molecular biological and protein production work under category 2 laboratories. They are involved in a series of research projects involving diagnosis, vaccine

and drug development and has all instruments and laboratory facilities (Bioreactors, HPLC, FPLC, Robotics, Dispensers, ELISA infrastructure, nanospotters, Microarray facility, cell culture facility, mAb production).

5. AbBcn S.L.

ABBCN is an SME company dealing in the sale of antibodies and other reagents for research in Biomedicine and Biotechnology. It was created by a team of researchers to make it easier for research laboratories to obtain reagents and manage purchases. ABBCN’ product range includes RUO products (for research use only) and Diagnostic in vitro kits. They offer customized services: antibody production, peptide synthesis, conjugations, synthesis of recombinant proteins, DNA sequentiation of monoclonal antibodies and antibody commercialization through our web or distribution platforms. 6. LUNDS UNIVERSITET

Lund University is the largest and the second oldest Swedish university. The Department of Biotechnology houses 5 different research groups dealing with fermentation, bioorganic chemistry, environmental chemistry and biomaterial science. The bioanalysis group is highly involved in research with biosensors, flow-injection analysis and related activities like mass spectrometry. The department is world-wide acknowledged for its activity in the field of biosensors and bioaffinity. The laboratories are fully equipped with state-of-the-art analytical equipment. The senior scientists of the department have been permanently involved in several national and international projects with European, Asian and American research groups and industry. Department of Experimental Medical Science in Lund University are experienced in carrying out Laboratory measurements for human examination, including HIV testing.
